This little guy is our newest goat. He was born last week on the 27th of April. He was really small when he was born and we didn't know if he was going to make it but after a couple of days he was eating good and playing so we knew he would be ok. The sad part is that this last Monday his mother died. We think that she was fed to much grain and got bloated and died. The baby isn't big enough to live off hay alone so we have to feed him. The hard part is that he doesn't like the animal bottle we try to feed him with. He tries to nurse off Daffy our other goat who had a baby about a month ago but Daffy doesn't like it and won't willingly let him. So what we found that works is we have to catch Daffy and make her stand still and then she will let him nurse off her which he does so much better than eating off the bottle. However that creates a lot of work for us because we have to do this 3-4 times a day or more. I guess it creates more work for James because I can't catch the goat to make her hold still. We are hoping that this baby will get enough milk until he is a few more weeks older so he can live off the hay. He is so cute and so little. Him and our little puppy Baily are about the same size.
