Short Cut

On Friday we went to Hayden Arizona for the St. David High School football game to watch a couple of our nephews play ball.  We didn't know where Hayden Arizona was so James got on the computer to get the directions. This is what came up, go to Superior and then on to Hayden. We needed to make a stop in Queen Creek before we headed there so James thought that we could go from Queen Creek to Florence and then take the yellow highlighted area you see in the pictures and it would be faster.  He tried to get the the directions to reroute him that way but it wouldn't. We made our stop in Queen Creek and I used the GPS on my phone to see if it would reroute us that way since we were closer to it. Again it wouldn't reroute us that way it said to go back to the 60 and go to Superior.  But if you know my husband he won't listen to a GPS and will go what way he thinks is best.  We finally got onto the Hwy which is the yellow highlighted area and still my GPS wouldn't acknowledge that way, it still said to go back to the 60 and go to Superior first.  We were a little over a 1/4 of the way on the yellow highlighted road and I tried rerouting the GPS again and it STILL said to go back to the 60 and onto Superior. We both thought that was so weird because obviously it would be faster to take this road than going all the way around. Well, not too long after that this highway turned into a dirt road. We both started laughing and then knew why the GPS wouldn't reroute us this way. We went ahead on the dirt road and it wasn't TOO bad and we did make it to the game but I think the other way would have been faster. :)
