Happy Birthday Carter!

So for Carter's birthday with had a small cook out and a little party for him. Chad and his family came and  James' mom and step dad was there also.  It was small but we had a good time.  Here are some pics from that fun day.

His first birthday present was a doll from James' mom.  The story behind that is a while back she had given one of James' nephews a doll for his first Christmas and James' brother didn't like that at all.  So then it was a joke this whole year that James would tell his mom that she better not give Carter a doll.  So as a joke she sure did get him a doll. :)



Carter still hasn't grasped the excitement of opening presents so his cousins jumped right in to show him what to do.

Carter was content letting the girls take the rapping paper off and then he would get so excited for the toy that was inside. :)



And it wouldn't be a first birthday with out your very own little cake.  So sure enough Carter got his own little cake.  At first he wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  He just looked at it and pointed to it like "really I can have this and you won't take it away from me?"  Then he dived right in and got it everywhere and loved it!  good times.

 After he got all cleaned up it was time to play with the kids.
